Do not buy this router. September 4, 2010 Guy This is a terrible piece of junk. I purchased the router 2 months ago and it's given me too much grief. Each time I've attempted to waste hours of my day trying to explain to the online tech support folks that a) I'm not an idiot and I know how to install this router. b) asking me question after question that leads to the same result. c) them asking me to try to set it up again and me explaining that if I do that, we will lose OUR connection because the only way I'm connected to the internet is through a hard-wire at the moment.
Please do not waste your time with this modem. It is junk. Buy a more reliable brand. Linksys support is weak and unhelpful. The modem is cheaply made.
All I wanted to do was to get a replacement. They make it VERY difficult. In the end, I just threw it away and bought one made by NETGEAR. It works fine
Questionable quality control September 2, 2010 BG (Chicago) The router was easy to configure using the setup wizard, at least for basic configuration. If you want to go beyond that, you're pretty much on your own because there is no documentation provided with the device. The wireless range is plenty for the house I live in, and had no problem connecting to it with my HP laptop. However, two of the four switch ports don't work.
Good Value August 30, 2010 not2smrt I'm no geek. The only tomato I'm familiar with is on a sandwich. I had the router installed and running in 15 minutes. Strong signal all through a 2 story house. Four to five bars 225 ft. through two windows into another building. Buy it.
Failed after short time August 29, 2010 wauwis (midwest) Worked well for a while then system slowed to a crawl. Removed router and everything was ok. I did not bother to try to get it to work. This is probably a solvable problem, but, I do not wish to spend the time to try. This may be a good product, but my experience with it was not good.

dd-wrt works great August 27, 2010 Scott Smith 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've got 2 of these. Both have dd-wrt installed. One is connected to the DSL modem and the other is downstairs set-up as a wireless bridge repeater. Prior to adding the last one I relied on a d-link wireless router and ended up rebooting it and the dsl modem at least a few times a day. Now that I've eliminated the d-link router, I've had no issues whatsoever for the last 2 weeks.
