3 out of 5 stars Good features for the price   September 4, 2010

I got one of these on sale last week and so far so good. Initial set up was a pain, had to call tech support. Overall, this router seems to be more complicated to use than any other router I have used. I am only getting 65mbps although the reviews I read claimed 130mbps. High powered or not the signal strength is just okay and I will occasionally lose a bar for no apparent reason. My old B router was stronger, which is sad. This router does offer alot of features although I am not sure how useful they will be since this router is not the easiest to use.

5 out of 5 stars Just the best! Easy to set up and powerful!   September 4, 2010

For years, I've been using Linksys products exclusively. I had a Linksys wireless G router on my home wireless network consisting of 2 desktops and 3 laptops running XP, Vista (ugh!), Windows 7 and Unbuntu. I also had a Linksys access point connecting my DirecTV DRV and Samsung Blu-Ray player to the wireless network for streaming video. The main and only reason that I'm telling you all this is just to let you know that I'm not entirely untalented or stupid when it comes to technology. So when I decided to upgrade my network from G to N, I decided that I might want to try another brand other than Linksys. While comparing prices I found that a Netgear wireless router with comparable specs to the Linksys E3000 was $100.00 less. I purchased the Netgear router and was able to install it and configure it successfully. Then I decided to purchase a Netgear N access point to replace the the Linksys G access point. That installation was not successful. After following the installation instructions several times down to the letter, I finally gave in and called Netgear tech support. After various configuration changes over the phone with someone that I could barely understand, even they were unsuccessful and finally told me that this particular model was incompatible with the router of their own brand. I honestly doubt that this was the case and think that this was just an easy way to get me off the phone. So, I returned that model and purchased the one that they suggested - the Netgear 802T. No luck with that one either. Finally, I went back to the drawing board and started researching all over again. That's when I found this Buffalo router. I ended up purchasing two of them - one for my router and the other for my access point. I had my network up and running in less than 20 minutes and haven't had a problem with it since. I have boxed the Netgear up for returns. I would recommend Buffalo without reservation!

5 out of 5 stars Great Product -- Lousy Amazon "Free Shipping"   September 2, 2010

Great Router, easy to set up and excellent range. Very dissatisfied with Amazon's "Free Shipping Policy". They say 5 -7 days, but obviously HOLD the order from processing AND do not allow you to CANCEL it even though it has not yet shipped. Come on folks, I didn't fall off the turnip truck; you could cancel any order not yet shipped with the press of the delete button. Your tactic to discourage "Free Shipping" is going to cost you in lost customers. I am going to be your first. I will not buy from Amazon unless you stop your less than ethical policies; and don't bore me with your spin that you have so many orders to proecess bla bla bla. It is all computerized and we know it. Bye bye -- screw me once shame on you; screw me twice -- ain't going to happen.

5 out of 5 stars Nice WIFI N Router for the money   August 29, 2010
A. Koss (Flagstaff, AZ)
This was very easy to set up. I updated the software to the latest rev before I did anything else. The range is ok, all the rooms have an adequate signal. Overall, a good wifi router.

4 out of 5 stars Works well, a bit tough to setup   August 29, 2010

Once setup, this is a very good router. Setting up a pair with one as a wireless repeater took some time and research but now very happy with it.
